Appelavonden (Appel evenings)
22.05.2001 - 29.05.2001
De Appel
De Appel invited SKOR to compile a program focusing on visual art in public spaces. On the evenings of 22 and 29 May 2001 six artists were invited to present one or more of their works. The underlying idea was to highlight various opinions, strategies and public domains. The artists focused on ten projects, ranging from Rotterdam’s harbor to the virtual public space of the internet. Almost all of the projects were commissioned under the supervision of various clients including the Rijksdienst Beeldende Kunst, the Belgische Koning Boudewijnstichting, De Verbeelding in Zeewolde, Artimo, COR and SKOR.

Annette Weisser and Ingo Vetter on Kontrollierte Atmosphären, a project proposal for Zeewolde.
Kamiel Verschuren on BAD’s project in Rotterdam’s Charlois district.
Jeroen Doorenweerd on his bridge designs for Barendrecht. A.E Kliest (COR) provided additional information on this project’s status.
