Inkijk # 2: Bett

“Bett???, a video by Roman Signer, was screened in the Inkijk. This was done in conjunction with Signer’s participation at the manifestation KUNSTmatige NATUURLIJKE NETWERKEN (ARTificial NATURAL NETWORKS) in Zwolle’s De Verbeelding, which was organized in collaboration with SKOR.

“Bett??? is a short video that can be watched in its completion or, indeed, in passing by. In it one sees an artist who is practically hidden under a blanket in an adorable single bed. Above his head a miniature helicopter and an irritating insect make circles.

Those who take the time to view the video more closely will, in addition to the humorous aspect of the work, be taken by the strangeness of the miniature helicopter in its domestic surroundings. By extension, the viewer may become more aware of similarly strange images in his daily surroundings.
