For the 2003 ‘Year of the Farm’ commission Joachim Brohm concentrated on the provinces of Flevoland and Zeeland. In Flevoland he was fascinated by the extreme uniformity of the modern farms and how the city of Almere contrasts with the polder lands lying behind it. In Zeeland he focussed on the more traditional farms and the growing tension between farming and the escalating tourism in this coastal province.
