Juke(box)house is a work by Eva Knutz and Gabrielle Marks, two members of 9NERDS, a collective of nine artists and designers working with new media. Inspired by peep shows, fruit machines, sleazy dancehalls and old disco records, the artists transformed the Inkijk into a jukebox that passers by can play from the outside. The repertoire consists of eight love songs for you to swoon away to. Or rather, should be able to swoon away to. For the accompanying animation films give a somewhat unexpected turn to the sweet lyrics of dedication and everlasting love. They can be viewed individually, but if you play them one after the other then you see the story of a flirtation getting hilariously out of hand. Juke(box)house is the first of a series of presentations in the Inkijk that approaches the public nature of the location from different points of view.
